The Festival is celebrated every first week of May.
The travel time from Manila, my place to Vigan Ilocos is 6 to 7 hours by BUS.
The street dancing which started in front of the Cathedral and ended in Crisologo Street. Where old houses were decorated for the competition.
The dance was inpired by the weaving process and Folk dance.
The painting contest where the lumbering beasts of burden become living canvasses. It Honor and celebrate the Filipino farmer’s best friend. The carabao (water buffalo). The paint use is safe and water base.
It is a celebration which includes street dancing.
The dancing is connected to Iloco Craft. The dance depict how cotton pods are beaten with bamboo sticks to release the cotton fluff called batbat from its seed.
Activities are lined up for the whole week celebration.
